PAT Testing Stratford Upon Avon Warwickshire

When PAT Testing Stratford Upon Avon Warwickshire we carry out various electrical safety checks on all of your portable electrical appliances. The tests that we perform on each appliance is decided by their type and class

In order to fully conform to the Electricity at Work Regulations we must test every portable appliance in your premises. This basically means anything with a plug, whether 110V, 230V, 16A or other. These appliances must be regularly inspected and maintained.

Visual Inspection

Each portable appliance will undergo a preliminary visual check by one of our qualified PAT testers. The plug, lead, or casing will be examined to see if they are in good shape and declared safe to use. Once the visual check is successful, an electrical test will be performed.

To show whether an appliance has passed or failed the test, it will be given a green or red label. The green label will display the test date, the appliance ID number, and the engineer’s initials if it has passed.

Inspecting the Plug

Our PAT tester will examine the plug to make sure the right fuse is being used and that all connections are made correctly and securely.

The plug itself must meet current BS Standards and be in good shape with no visible cracks or damage.

Inspecting the Casing of the Appliance

Over time, equipment may sustain damage without your knowledge. Our qualified PAT testers will examine the outside shell for any signs of wear, overheating, fractures, or holes.

Earth Continuity Test

This test analyses the earth’s resistance between the appliance’s earth pin and earth point in order to assess the integrity of the earth connection.

Class 1 appliances are checked.

Insulation Resistance

This test checks that the insulation provided by the casing of the appliance is sufficient for safety.

All appliance classes are tested

Microwave Leakage Detection

The high levels of radiation that a leaking microwave can generate can have a major negative impact on your health and immune system, and in some cases can even cause cancer.

Our leakage detection technology has received CE approval to measure microwave radiation levels while in use.

A test of the operational safety cut off is also a part of the testing process. A microwave leakage detection sticker is applied to the microwave once the test is finished, and all results are recorded and shown alongside the PAT Testing results. Prices for this optional test will be included in your quotation.
