plug failed pat testing

Halloween has been and gone but we experience horrors all year round. With several years of PAT Testing experience we can honestly say that we still get a ‘shock’ when coming across some the horrors we find in care homes, factories, churches, restaurants, student accommodation and let properties to name just a few. Over the years we have found numerous of faulty equipment that could have caused fires so easily.

With electrical safety week between 22nd and 28th November there’s no better time to make business owners, landlords, care home managers and maintenance companies aware of the dangers of faulty equipment.

PAT Testing and Electrical Safety Week

Each year, Electrical Safety First works with the Home Office to promote electrical fire safety. Over half of all accidental fires are caused by electricity. And nine out of ten electrical fires are caused by electrical products.

When working in and around Birmingham we have found some real shockers, when it comes to electrical safety. We have compiled a library of unbelievable images showing some of the dangerous equipment that workman, students, pensioners and tenants are using on a day to day basis. These include plugs with missing covers, exposed wiring, taped joints in wires and cracked plugs and sockets.

We often find that most landlords and business owners are not aware of the extent of the problems with their portable appliances and welcome PAT testing so that they can ensure that everyone using the equipment is 100% safe.

If you are in Birmingham or the West Midlands then give us a call to come and evaluate your portable appliances to give you peace of mind that all of your equipment is as safe as it can be and to make you aware of any electrical appliance that could be unsafe to use.
